Reading Competition

This year, our annual English reading competition for grade 7 was a resounding success, showcasing the incredible talents of our students. The competition began with prior class rounds, where students competed against each other. After impressing their classmates and teachers, Sarah (7a1), Noah (7a2), Kim (7bil), Sarah (7mint1) and Alex (7mint2) advanced to the exciting final round and took center stage, demonstrating their passion for reading and storytelling.
Excitement and creativity filled the air as participants presented a familiar text of their choice that they had prepared in advance for the first round. In contrast, the second round was a bit more challenging, as they had to read an unfamiliar text on the spot, testing their quick thinking and adaptability. The jury, consisting of three dedicated teachers and three student representatives from class 9a2, faced a difficult decision in selecting the winners. After much deliberation, they announced the results. Alex from 7mint2 stood out to the jury and emerged as the champion of the FKG reading competition and will go on to represent our school at the citywide English reading competition this June. The second place was awarded to Kim, and Sarah took home the third prize. We extend our congratulations to all the winners and participants for their hard work and dedication.
We would also like to express our gratitude to the members of the jury – teachers Mrs. Peltner, Mr. Glowsky and Mr. Baalmann and students Diana, Livia, Gesa from 9th grade – for their time and effort. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Kreutz, our librarian, for her invaluable support in organizing this wonderful event.
