Felix-Klein-Gymnasium goes international

An International School for Südniedersachsen and beyond

The idea to establish an international school in our town with its famous university, its five Max-Planck-Institutes, further research institutions and many companies operating world-wide was born when it became obvious that more and more students are arriving in the Göttingen area with their parents, but without the necessary skills of German to cope successfully in the national school system. Felix-Klein-Gymnasium was confronted with this undertaking because of its long-lasting successful involvement in "bilingual teaching".

With the help of very committed parents and SüdniedersachsenStiftung several local and regional companies joined forces with Georg-August Universität Göttingen, the Max-Planck-Insitutes, and the City of Göttingen to finance and support in any possible way an International School at Felix-Klein-Gymnasium. These partners signed a respective agreement in support of the school to be established. An advisory board meets at regular intervals to monitor and assist the progress of this project. Companies actively involved in various ways are: Otto Bock Health Care, Mahr, Novelis and Sartorius.

It was only thanks to their financial support and expert advice that the project could be realised. All partners also help by providing opportunities for internships, by permission to use laboratory equipment or by offering personal assistance.
